Everyday we wake up knowing that we are working for a good cause. We are farmers and we grow food to nourish our bodies. It’s pretty rewarding! Sometimes the job of a farmer is simplified but it’s tough work and we are proud of what we do. We are glad to be able to open May Farms to you and your family so that you can experience a Colorado farm. Visit our farm this summer and get fresh produce for your family!
Here are some other farmers who are proud of what they do! We love this video and parody - “I’m Farming and I Grow It” — more than the original! We hope you do too!
Last week our good friend Quentin Smith brought over 20,000 honey bees to our farm! Sounds a little crazy right?… but bees are important to us and all farmers! These bees will not only collect lavender honey from our lavender field but pollinate our flowers and crops to ensure promising yields.
Many of the foods and crops we rely on need or, at the very least, benefit from bee pollination. Here’s a list of some of those crops.
It’s springtime at May Farms! See this little guy lose a few pounds after a long winter of growing wool. Shearing a sheep in the springtime helps him stay cool through the summer and his wool can be used for clothing and blankets. He seems pretty relaxed while getting it shaved off – I bet it feels good!
Make sure to contact us about other opportunities for you or your family to come out and learn more about country living and life on the farm. It’s always educational and we’d love to have you visit!
