This weekend May Farms staff planted 1000 pepper plants! Everything from California Golden, Jalapeno, Sandia, Lady Bell and Anaheim peppers. These peppers were “started” indoors and so we have a good healthy plant already to go in the ground.
Here’s a few tips. Peppers like well drained soil and lots of sunshine. The great thing about peppers is the more you harvest them the more peppers they will produce. However, if you want to maximize the health benefits let them ripen to full maturity to benefit from all the Vitamin A & C that the pepper has to offer.
May Farms Garden – Farmers Market – Produce Stand Update
We’re starting to plant the garden and we’ve got cantaloupe, onions, carrots, zucchini, summer squash, acorn squash and lemon cucumber seeds all in the ground. It’s awfully windy out on the Eastern plains today so we will resume planting when we feel like we won’t blow away!
We will continue to plant in the coming weeks and plan to have fresh produce available in a couple of months. We look forward to providing fresh produce to your family and seeing you here at the farm. Byers is only about 30 minutes from Denver and an easy drive on the highway. We hope you can make time to come visit us this summer!
